Description

The sidewalk and/or bike path on this stretch is very uneven and might require some maintenance. This is the only path that connects all houses on Richard St, Lamell Ave, Marion Ave and Irene Ave to Sandhill Park and Essex Center and beyond.

When the Town obtained the seeclickfix services last year, a number of earlier requests within the Town had been submitted to the Village. This is one of them. The area of sidewalks you pointed out are very old and some sections are in need of repair. We will look at this area and determine where repair work is needed. In general, we can tolerate cracked walkways providing they have not heaved or created a dangerous situation. W#e are also constrained with limited sidewalk repair dollars but we will see what can be done.

Clos Town - Public Works Director (Utilisateur inscrit)

This issue was discovered when the seeclickfix system from the Village was merged with the Towns. The area around the SandHill Road/VT15 intersection will be rebuilt by VTRANS in 2019 to include a traffic signal, pedestrian crosswalk and new walks in the adjacent areas. The areas further from the intersection are checked periodically by the Highway Dept. If there is a specific location where you feel there is an un-safe segment, such as a sidewalk section really heaved, please re-enter seeclickfix with a location and possibly pictures. That will help us better address any issues further from the Sand Hill Road intersection.
