Deskripsyon

The settling is worsening and covering a larger area - i.e. several low spots now vs. just one initially. There is a dangerous series of significant settling of the pavement on Olmsted Drive in the Bellevue Highlands sub-division. They
appear to be the beginnings of sink holes. They have had a series of temporary fixes but nothing lasts long and the situation seems to be
worsening since the Great Flood. I urge Metro engineers to assess the situation and provide a solution before somebody loses their car.

Olmsted Dr. is one of many flood damaged streets. The process in repairing these roads involve submitting estimates to a FEMA project specialist and then receiving the proper funds from FEMA. Once everything is done properly, Public Works plans to start road repair as soon as possible. Flood damaged roads are periodically being inspected until proper repair can be done.

I'm confused as to how Olmstead is considered a flood-damaged street, considering it is on a inclining hill and there is sufficient drainage even for heavy rains. The settling referred to has been on-going for as long as five years. It is only more pronounced in the past few months and requires one to really slow down or drive in the opposing lane to avoid it.

I have noticed that they Public Works has repaired the settled area in the middle of the street and have levelized the foundation for a future layer of asphalt as of 3/14/11. I look forward to seeing the project finished, if it's not already!
