Completely agreed. I hate watching people blow through the stop sign on this road at a rate of at least 2 cars for every 3 minutes.

every once in a while they use to have a cop at the corner of Day Spring and ticket the people who didn't stop.

Well, the Quinnipiac students are back again and the level of traffic is again increased on Washington Ave.....and of course there are cars blowing through the stop sign ....again. Add to that the speed with which they do so and it is just a matter of time before someone gets hurt. There are too many little kids in this neighborhood for something to not be done about it.

Watch several cars a day not only blow the stop sign, but actually speed up to do so. Lately there has been a dark haired woman in a green jeep with New Jersey plates that does this at least twice a day. If you know her, tell her to slow her @#$% down.

Here's a bulletin for you Eliza...washington avenue has been a *cut through* street for people wanting to avoid the lights on whitney and dixwell for as long as I can remember (back to the 1970's). The traffic there is about the same as it was back when I went to Sleeping Giant Junior High school. Speed bumps are not the answer....the roads are not there for your personal satisfaction. The traffic flow has not significantly increased on washington avenue...if you didn't want to live on a busy street, you should have considered this before purchasing your home. All too often people try to change their surroundings to suit themselves, rather than consider others in the environment. This is a classic example. While I agree that those drivers who fail to stop at stop signs should be ticketed, inconveniencing all users of that road (the majority of whom do NOT live in the neighborhood) is a selfish and immature method of dealing with the issue.
