Thank you for using Improve Detroit. This sidewalk complaint has been referred to the City Engineering Department for investigation. Sidewalk repairs and replacements are completed only at the time when the street is resurfaced, during construction season. Our goal at the DPW Street Maintenance Division is to is to maintain the City of Detroit's roadways in order to promote safe travels within the City.

The two trees in front of 14600 and 14608 Sussex are continually growing across the sidewalk and into the street. Cars are breaking the branches and people are hitting their heads on the branches over the sidewalks. Please come and cut the trees. Thank you

Two trees at 14600 Sussex and 14608 Sussex are overgrown. The branches are so low that they hit the top of cars. The tree roots have damaged the sidewalks which have sunken and in the winter it is a frozen pond. Please repair the sidewalk and cut the trees before the ice comes.

The problem is getting worse. The branches are hanging low across the sidewalk. The roots are pushing off the sidewalk right in front of my steps and I hope I do not fall. Please come and trim the trees and repair the sidewalk. Thank you

Both trees need to be trimmed. The tree limbs are growing across the sidewalk toward the house roof. The concrete is cracking up in front of the tree

For the past 5 years I have requested help from the city to solve this problem. It has become more dangerous each year because the sidewalk in front of my house has dropped and the depression is deep enough to cause a pond when it rains and thick ice when the temperature drops. I have sent several letters to the mayor and also to building and safety for 5 years but never have I received a response from either the mayor's office or the department of safety. I am considered to be elderly and I fear falling and breaking my bones in the water that pools or freezes. Please don't wait until someone is injured or dies to correct this problem. It has been 5 years. I do not understand why this problem has not been taken care of. Will someone in the mayor's office please contact me. This is a dangerous situation. Thank you

The address shown is incorrect. The correct address is 14608 Sussex Street. I have been requesting help from the mayor and the director of building and safety bye sending at least two letters to them each year for the past 5 years or more. I have also contacted their offices. I even sent a letter to cancel person James Tate. Neither the mayor, director or Mr Tate has ever been considerate enough to respond to any of my letters or phone calls. The issue with the sidewalk is dangerous because the sidewalk has raised in one area and defense and another which causes walkers to trip or children to fall while riding their bikes. When the depression feels with rain and becomes dangerous because a person can easily slip. And the winter when the depression becomes filled with snow it freezes and becomes very slippery causing passerbyes to fall. I do not understand that why none of the parties mentioned have not contacted me. Don't they care that citizens could become seriously injured or even die from falling.on raised or depressed concrete filled with water or ice. Your records will indicate that I have been asking for help for over 5 years and no one has contacted me. Doesn't this same ridiculous to you. Please change the address to 14608 Sussex Street. There are two trees on the berm one in front of 14600 and by the way those sidewalks were repaired and the other in front of 14608 Sussex Street which is still waiting for repair. Thank you
