Description

At least for catch basins on this block are clogged. the last crew who work on this said it is tree roots and they did not have the equipment to fix. Street flooding extends from 18422 to Fairfield to 18460 Fairfield every time there is significant rain. Flooding extends up into several driveways and berms on both sides of the street. Please do not just mark this problem as resolved. It is not.

Is anybody at DWSD paying attention to this? Every time there's a decent rain the street floods up to the bottoms of SUVs and driveway aprons are covered 4 houses wide on both sides of the street. The crew that cleaned basins more than a year ago said special equipment was needed for this one. Do we actually have that equipment?

Workers were here with a truck and worked on it for about an hour on 10/9/18. Next big rain will tell us whether it's resolved now.

As of today, the street is still flooding. I've been speaking with a DWSD supervisor about this issue. I will report back with updates.

Update from DWSD Supervisor: Flooding is not due to street grading. There is some sort of blockage in the sewer, and they have to access it from a different location. He said they may need a new manhole at this location to fix. (Picture was taken Monday morning after raining on Saturday.)
