In the 2+ years since I've lived across from this spot I don't think I have gone a single week without seeing it filled up with some kind of junk. We might think about starting by just getting a regular trash can on the block - for posterity, if nothing else. Every other night some a-hole lights fireworks from on top of the power box there. Cleaning that area up might make it seem less appealing to vandalize.

Maybe contact the neighborhood services coordinator to see what can be done to deter dumping and vandalism?
