Description
Each day as I go from Oakland to Alameda I pass through the intersection at Fruitvale and East 9th. Each day I sit in a long line of cars heading west, toward the Fruitvale bridge. The cars wait at the light because there is only one lane allowed to go straight. The other lane is dedicated to a left turn. However, almost no one uses that lane. The businesses on East 9th arbe all closed. There is no need for a dedicated turn lane at this intersection or at the Fruitvale and East 8th intersection. The businesses are closed on East 8 and 9th and the traffic often backs up to International Blvd. It also often causes cars to get stuck on the railroad tracks.
Please consider addressing this issue and letting cars go left or straight from Fruitvale. Thanks!
