Opis

Most of Hayden Road, more noticeably where Hayden and Essex Street intersect is under water. As the photos evidence, this is not an exaggeration, there is a serious situation, but a situation that is fixable if the job is completed with the ultimate goal being a long term solution and not a short term band aid. I say this not to be confrontational, but instead as a Saugus resident that hopes those in charge of fixing the roads set the bar just a little higher than prior fixes that were completed with little attention given to a long term solution (see photos evidencing bucket loads tar/blacktop that were dumped on the road 2 days before, but never graded.....a bandaid and sadly a waste of taxpayer funded material and labor)

In terms of the current flooding situation, the long term solution would be:
1. Adding at least 1 additional sewer closer to the intersection of Hayden and Essex Street. 1 is just not enough. This can even be achieved by adding it to Essex Street (at the intersection) to collect the waters running onto Haden Road (a dead end with no where for the water to go).
2. Complète a proper regrading of Hayden road (at minimum the first half of the street which has been severely damaged by flooding and potholes). Patching this again would be essentially the same amount of work as most of the street is littered with birdbath sized potholes. This will level the grade with Essex street as well as the low spots along the left side of Essex street.

Thank you very much for your attention and I thank you in advance for fixing successfully fixing a problem that has plagued this street for longer than I care to share.
1. Hayden Road sits severely below the grade of Essex Street resulting in significant rain water and runoff.
2. Hayden Road only has 1 single drain located at the farthest end of the street (opposite Essex Street). Well over 50% of the rain water and runoff never reaches the single drain for a number of reasons, but all resulting from the deterioration in the road's grade level (i.e. various "low spots" specifically between 2 and 6 Hayden Road where water accumulates {see photos}, numerous potholes fill with rainwater making it a danger that is not easily noticed by drivers, and dirt and garbage running off from Essex street create physical barriers stopping the water.
