Olivia is one way, away from 9th street. 9th street itself has no purpose as a through street. I would guess a traffic study would show fewer than 10 cars per hour go north on 9th towards Hawkins.

There is no danger here and no other visual obstruction to justify a stop sign. This has all the hallmarks of an inappropriate use of a stop sign for "traffic quieting" in response to a vague complaint about too much traffic or speeding.

I would support removing the stop signs on Hawkins and let the police work on other more important things, like the selling of drugs in the area. No stop sign, no violators - problem solved.

I have several issues w/ your response. I invite you to sit on the corner of Hawkins + E 9th Street for an hour + count cars. I assure you will observe more than 10 cars in that hour. It is clear that you do not live in this area of town. There is most certainly a danger due to excessive speeding. Olivia St. being a one way has nothing to do w/ this issue. Removing the stop signs at this intersection would be irresponsible + downright stupid.

The intersection of E 9th & Hawkins is a VERY high traffic area. Particularly in the morning as people are driving thier kids three blocks to school and again in the afternoon. There should also be traffic direction clarification on the short block from Cottage to 7th on Hawkins where drivers go both ways, despite the rest of the street being one-way from 6th to 9th.
