PLEASE REPLACE THE YERKES BRIDGE IN YERKES ,PA MAILING ADDRESS COLLEGEVILLE,PA 19426... IT WOULD BENEFIT THE DRUG COMPANIES ,LOCAL TRAFFIC AND WHEN THE ARCOLA BRIDGE GETS FIXED IT WOULD PREVENT A HARDSHIP ON ALL PATTERNS OF TRAFFIC IN THE AREA

it has not been replaced and it needs to be replaced
it was used as escape route to enable limerick power plant to be installed and it should be needed for escape route as there are a few more cars in this area now
My family has owned Landes Brothers Inc. since before I was born. I remember visiting and riding my bike across the original bridge. Replacing the bridge would be a good thing I believe but I don't know how the residents in on Yerkes Rd. would feel about the increase in traffic.
As a Lower Providence resident (in the area of the site of the old bridge), I think more than a bridge for motor vehicles, what's needed is a safe way for residents to get to the other side of the creek for access to the Perkiomen Trail.
As it stands now, area residents have two options to access the Perkiomen Trail by foot or bike: Ridge Avenue (which has no shoulder, a 40mi/hr speed limit, and no direct access to the Perkiomen Trail) and Level Road (a blind turn on a 12% grade with no shoulder).
I've tried to use both routes to access that trail and both are flat out dangerous for both pedestrians and cyclists.
Bottom line is that we don't need the traffic. Besides, there's already another motor vehicle bridge being built somewhere off of Pechins Mill Road.
What we need is a reasonable and safe way for Lower Providence residents to access the Perkiomen Trail. The site of the old bridge at Yerkes Road makes the most sense for this.
