Description
Recently (couple of months ago), center lines were added to the southern end of Pine Street. To my knowledge these have never been present until just recently. Since that time, this section of road has become more challenging to navigate. Given the new lines are in the center of a narrow section of road, any car parked on the side forces traffic over the center line. This is not often understood by oncoming traffic and I have personally seen many near collisions because of this.
What analysis went into adding these lines? Was it considered to make parking on one side of the road only and shift the lanes over so traffic can flow freely? Why were they added after years of not being present?
Please review the area and re-improve this section of road. Reach out to my contact info provided if I can provide more info.

Thank you for sending us your question/comment on the line striping. Center line striping through out the City is actually performed and paid for by VTrans and unfortunately this section of Pine Street was done by accident. It is our intention to let the lines fade and hope that VTrans will skip this section in future years. We have notified them of the error, and will continue to do so for future years of line striping.
The Department of Public Works has resolved this request. Thanks for helping to keep Burlington a great place to live and work.
