Yesterday we, in Seymour, received a “code red” (reverse 911) phone call in which there was an “explanation” of why our streets aren’t plowed like they used to be. Regarding that explanation for lack of plowing after the blizzard, it was blamed on the large amount of snow, preventing use of the smaller plow trucks. But, if those trucks had "kept up with" the falling snow, they could have easily plowed a 6-8" depth quite easily. The trucks would have had to go back to streets they had plowed earlier, perhaps every two or three hours. That was the practice in the past. At the very worst, the final snow depth would have been about 6-8" of snow, making it quite simple to have the streets passable. Now, much more than tewnty four hours after the snow ended, it is still impossible to leave one's driveway. Unless, of course, one lives on or near Stanley Drive, which is passable, and has been. Perhaps a town official lives nearby?
