I just called the nonemergency number. The process is, OPD drives by assess the problem. Homeless advocates are sent out see if anyone wants/needs services. Public works comes out and does some cleaning. I am told it could take up to a month to get movement of some of these camps. In reality, after being moved they come back in 2-3 days and then the process starts all over again.
The people along Alameda Ave by the old glass factory are living in their trailers. There are 2 campers along the Estuary trail. Two women volunteers, who clean the trail every weekend try to get some of the homeless to bag their trash for Public Works to pick up.
We are getting homeless from Alameda, San Francisco and San Leandro. The City is overwhelmed.
