Description
New crosswalk at Fairyland on Grand and Park View Terrace is much longer than old one. Considering children and elderly cross here a lot the timing on this needs to be extended. This is a danger to pedestrians at this point - this crosswalk was already dangerous with traffic and bikes and red light running.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. Here's an image of the new crosswalk alignment at Grand and Park View Terrace, also showing the old crosswalk alignment with faint lines on the left. The angle will indeed be changed, but due to the sidewalk extension the new crossing distance will be just a bit shorter. The original crossing distance was about 87 feet, and the new one looks to be something like 82 feet. Not a huge difference, but better.
A separate project should be breaking ground soon to upgrade all of the non-signal controlled pedestrian crossings of Grand between there and Bellevue to the east with sidewalk extensions, high viz markings and beacons, so stay tuned for that work as well.
