Case Resolved. NSTAR had received an Occupancy Permit (OCCU-758529) from BTD to work in the area. Also keep in mind that whenever an electrical company is doing work in that area and there is a scheduled power outage for the Verizon building. As a result, Verizon had to use their generator to keep their central office equipment and other system running in this part of the city.   Verizon did apologize for the inconvenience they might have caused the neighbors, but stated that there was no other ways to keep their equipment running during planned power outage. Sorry, but no, this information was not helpful or new. This is the same sad story Verizon is telling the residents of this area when we have been complaining.
1. Verizon should get new back up generators that DO NOT MAKE HORRIFICALLY LOUD NOISE when they are on. They exist. They just have to pay for them. If they don't want to shell out the money for a quiet generator, then they should move their facility out of the residential area.
2. Eversource should work more quickly on their repairs and they should be done during business hours. Not over the weekend and overnight when most people are home trying to enjoy their yard and garden during the day and trying to sleep overnight. This last one lasted three days, Thursday through Sunday!! This is an ongoing problem.
3. The noise level is simply unacceptable and illegal for a residential area. Our neighborhood is being disrespected and something must be done about it!

11:15pm Thursday, 10/26/17: The extremely loud noise has begun again from the generator at Verizon!! Please have someone from the city come out an measure this noise. It must be above the legal level. Something has to be done about this!! This cannot be allowed to continue.
