called 911 and followed 2 young black males from the alley between vance and kirby because one of them was carrying a tv and they looked suspicious (around 10:15 pm). The 2 guys ran and last saw them enter from Highland Park Ave. into the alley between kirby and union.

John - Way to go. This confirms that there is something sneaky going on in that area lately. I've passed this on to the listserv.
More people are on our Highland Park listserv than are on seeclickfix in the Highland Park area, so make sure to bring up issues like this there (as you've done in the past).
