these are thick evergreen bushes which are growing progressively over the sidewalk.
this homeowner should cut them back so we can use the sidewalk.

Why don't you get a hedge-clipper!
People (especially kids) walk in the street because of these overhanging bushes.
All it takes is one kid to get hit by one of those speeding SUVs and 'get a life' will have a whole new meaning.
