oh yes that things smells so bad in the summer

I heard that this often happens when restaurants pour used cooking oil down the drain or when people flush non-toilet-paper objects down the toilet.

Call the Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority at 203-466-5620 emergency number and explain the problem. They were quick to respond when there was a similar problem in my neighborhood in Hamden.

The problem is that the storm water/sewage separation was done incorrectly and the sewage line is venting out the storm drains. It was done incorrectly for the entire stretch of Front Street. That is why it smells like human feces all the time -- because it is human feces that you are smelling. It has nothing to do with "cooking oil", or "non-toilet-paper objects" being flushed "down the toilet".
I propose that we start a petition and hammer this issue until it is resolved. There is absolutely NO reason that we should have to be exposed to the off-gassing of decaying, human feces, and who knows what else on a daily basis in front of our own homes.
If someone wants to volunteer to be the "keeper" of a petition, I will gladly write on up and help spearhead this serious problem.

The engineering department wants to hear from people who live on Front St, or experience the issue first hand. Anyone willing to spend a few moments to express their concerns regarding the issue please call engineering at:

Mr. Miller, at the engineering department, told me that they were going to fix it this summer. He said they cannot send anyone out right now, because they are taking care of the "more important, higher liability" sewer drains first, then they will take care of Front St. Maybe we should organize a group trip to the engineering department to meet Mr. Miller in person.
How about June 7th at 11:00am?

I guess we have to reschedule our field trip to engineering for later this week?
Pick a day and time and post it here.
