These used syringes are an extreme public heath and safety issue. They need to stop handing them out like candy with no way to retrieve them. PWD and Waste management do not handle bio hazards and will not pick them up. As KOCB volunteer I have picked up several hundred because it takes to long for the city to do anything. I have a sharps container and take them to the Alameda county household waste facility.
