You have to judge when you approach the intersection. If you can make the turn without waiting for backed up traffic coming form the other direction, turning is faster, but more times than not, it's quicker to travel to the next turn or even up to Hibernia Road, to turn rather than wait for traffic to clear (which it may never do). And it always feels dangerous to have traffic passing you on the right at this intersection.
