So how exactly does a loud motorcycle fit into being concerned about children being safe ???? The people who complain about things like this , are more dangerous to their kids than anything.

As a motorcycle rider I am also tired of excessively loud motorcycles. My neighbors don't hear excessive noise when I leave my house with a 1500 v-twin with stock pipes. And don't give the crap that loud pipes save lives. That is pure bs.

I agree about the noise. I have a neighbor in Stowe who constantly revs his motorcycle while just sitting in his driveway and when he drives away, you can still hear him blocks away from our street!

In the June 2010 issue of Roadbike magazine, “Prevent the Crash, Prevent the Injury”, David L. Hough wrote, “If you feel that you need loud pipes to let other motorists know where you are, I submit that you’re not a skillful enough rider to properly analyze a traffic situation. Rather than expect others to get out of your way, learn to read traffic, predict what others are going to do, and position your bike where you won’t get picked off. The best remedy of all? Slow down.

Prius owners need to make thier cars louder because the children who are playing in the street, a god given right and what it was designed for (sarcasm) cannot hear them in order to walk slowly out of the way well sort of. Get your kids out of the road!
