Update please ?!

The City is still trying to get an update from GDOT. As soon as we have information from them it will be posted to this thread.

The Georgia Department of Transportation advises that activity has stalled due to conflicts with an unmarked water line. Until the water line is relocated, no further activity can occur. Relocation of the line is scheduled to begin within the next few days, and the main project contractor will resume construction once the relocation is complete.

Shortly after you posted that they would start in a few days they put 2 bulldozers on site. However that is it. It as now been 3 months since the last work was done at this intersection. What pressure can the city put on the DOT to complete this intersection? Is there a number that citizens can call as well?

At least fix the lights so more than 3 cars can go thru from the Northpoint side.

GDOT officials inform the City that they are in negotiation with the contractor and Fulton County regarding additional project expenses that will result from the need to change the project scope as a result of the unmarked water line that was discovered during construction. GDOT has directed the contractor to order additional materials that will be needed to complete the project; however, the contractor cannot move forward until the water line is relocated by Fulton County.

The City has no avenue to expedite the process.

Glad our Government is so efficient. In the private world there would be fines or they would be out of business. At least fix the lights while this circus is going on.

GDOT advises that work at the site resumes this week and that the project will be completed in December.

GDOT advises that all paving work is now complete at this location and that striping will be complete by the end of the month. Once this work is completed, the timing of signals at this intersection will be set and the intersection turned over to the City for ongoing management.

All work at the subject location is now complete. Signal timing at this intersection is consistent with traffic management strategies for the corridor.
