I do not see this as a problem. If anything, the delay simply aids in the control of traffic flow from Whalley, AND prevents speeding down Goffe Street hill, which has always been a big problem. Norton and Goffe has been the location of many, many serious accidents over the years due to drivers speeding 40+ mph up and down Goffe St hill, and running red lights. This intersection is also a popular spot for hit and runs - we residents hear the crashes (how can one not?), run out of our homes to see if everyone is ok, only to find NO ONE present at the scene. Seems to me thieves steal cars and then take them on joyrides - and this area has become a popular "destination" for these reckless, thieving drivers.
I DO NOT want this issue "fixed." Allow the cycle of pedestrian lights to run at all times.
I would also like to add that the Jews walking the streets of Beaver Hill on their way to/from the Synangogue on Norton receive very little friendliness or consideration from drivers. As such, there should be MORE of these pedestrian cycled lights added to this section of the city.
