Re-opening a case only opens the SeeClickFix issue for comments on the website. It does not re-open the case within the City of Houston's 311 Citizens Relationship Management (CRM) system. If a case is re-opened on the website, only the original submitter can re-close it. Comments are moderated by SeeClickFix and the City of Houston.
Cases (issues) that require an initial investigation may result in several work processes. First, the situation reported will be investigated and evaluated. Next, if work is warranted, it may be completed under the original case. However, if a different or more specific case should be required to address a concern, a new case will be opened, and the original case will be closed. As each department handles case requests differently, the information contained in Houston 311 CRM may not always reflect all the information about a particular case. The city is working to develop a link between connected cases so a citizen may track their issue, beginning to end.
Once cases are closed in Houston 311 CRM, issues are automatically closed on the SeeClickFix website. To follow the progress of your case, please see the case map at www.houston311.org. This map displays all cases within any area of Houston; case information is updated nightly. Please take a look and comment on the new site and features.
For more information, please call 311 and refer to the Houston 311 case reference number. (If outside Houston, dial 713-837-0311.)
