Also, did anyone notice how great the meters worked when they were first turned on and there were worker's there directing the traffic and making sure that people obeyed the red signals? I sure did! Another big problem is all of the drivers who think that they're above the law and do not obey the signals, causing yet more delays. I think that if you were to get points on your license for not obeying the meter signals and cops occasionally sat at the signals to enforce this, there would be improved results. Nothing works when people do not do what theyr'e supposed to.

Not only do they not improve traffic flow on the highway, they create backups on the off ramps. Pretty much everyone I see is follows them. Perhaps if more people ignored them traffic would be better. PENDOT WIDDEN THE HIGHWAY TO 3 FRICKEN LANES!

If we had the time and the guts we would park our cars on the ramp and tie up traffice for an hour or two. that would get their attention.

MacDade to 476 NORTH: those ramp meters are a godsend in the afternoon. I've been taking that ramp since before the meters and it is significantly easier now. I prefer to get on here than take 95 N from Ridley Park.

Can you tell me how these lights are helpful (godsent) i must be missing something.

They are helpful if you need to make a phone call or text message while waiting in line. Otherwise they cause everyone to waste time and fuel. Pulling onto the highway is no easier or quicker with the signals operating.

so far i am getting feed back on things i can do while my life is passing away waiting for the light to change, no one has explained to me what is the purpose, and how does it make it easier to get on 476 that is at a stand still at the time of day the lights go on

This is a joke.. These stupid lights don't solve anything. The problem is with the design of the road being obsolete before it was ever even opened. Then the environmentalists at Swarthmore College mandated that the road needed to be 2 or less lanes going each way, which, IRONICALLY CAUSES MORE POLLUTION. The reason for this is NOW you have 4 lanes of cars IDLING AND WASTING WAY MORE GAS instead of travelling at their most efficient speed, which is a normal highway speed. They had the opportunity to widen the road when they repaved it a few years back too.. Morons. The road needs to be widened, and the i95 - Macdade - 476 cut through needs to have a CONCRETE barrier installed, not pointless plastic pipes that get run over anyway by texting morons. This allows people to cut in line causing more of a backup.
