Description
Snow removal crews were on our street this afternoon, He came and knocked on my door and asked if i could move my car and try and locate another driver, my neighbor. We moved our vehicles around 2PM while they were cleaning, They left shortly after. If i knew what they were going to do, I would have not moved. They pushed all the snow that has fallen this winter to one side of the road, Ours. This has left a whole block of having nowhere to park. Literally. Why would they leave it right on the street and not push it up onto the lawn. I had to park in Busters Pizza parking lot and walk to my house, Over a block away. I understand the snow needs to be removed but now a whole city block, 15+ Vehicles have nowhere to park. I also could understand coming home after work to shovel abit of snow, but having a 4 foot pile of packed snow is a little to much to move by hand, This is the 4th winter ive lived here and i have never seen something done so poorly, Pushing the snow 1 more row is all they needed to do.

We appreciate your feedback. Outlined below is how we stockpile snow based on street design and logistics at the time of removal. The last bullet indicates sidewalk stockpiling if the creation of a windrow to the middle of the road is not possible.
*On both sides of the road if no sidewalk exists.
*To the side without a sidewalk, if the sidewalk is on one side only.
*To the middle and removed or to the sidewalk on the even numbered side of the road on even years, or the odd numbered side of the road on odd years. 2012 / 2013 is an even year.
That being said, we will have a lead hand take a look at the stockpiling in your area if necessary.
Please note, City crews have been busy with the monumental task of removing higher than normal snow deposits this year.
To date we have had over 145 cm of snow and more is on the way. Our Crews have been out there 24 hours a day working hard to ensure our roads are passable for commuters.
However, we do realize this is a trying time for our Citizens and we truly appreciate your patience. Please know that your concern has been heard.
Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at (780) 538-0354.
