There are duplicate and conflicting lane markings at this intersection. During the day, it's somewhat clear what's intended. But when it's dark and especially when raining, it's hard to see which set of markings to follow. This was corrected one block east on Comm Ave in front of the Dunkin' Donuts but not here

The City of Newton has resolved this issue.

The issue is not yet resolved. The city tells me they will not repaint or grind away the duplicate lane markings. They say snow plows will remove the temporary markings but it's unclear which set of markings are temporary. They are both quite visible right now.
