Description
When traveling West on Bob Wallace, one hits a REALLY LONG red light when waiting to cross SE California. One can also see that the light is green to cross Whitesburg Dr while one is sitting waiting for the green light. As the light goes to yellow on Whitesburg, the light to cross California then turns green and one is then forced to wait another inordinate amount of time to wait for that green light. Can these not be timed so that drivers can hit both lights at the same time versus getting to travel a 100 feet before hitting the next light? This isn't an issue of timing as the light is triggered by weight - regardless of the traffic situation, the lights are ALWAYS mis-timed. Can you please remedy this??
Thanks very much

Thank you for contacting The City of Huntsville - Traffic Engineering. This signal system was set up to prioritize eastbound traffic flow on Bob Wallace, as well as north-south traffic flow on both California and on Whitesburg. Westbound traffic, which is a much lower volume than the other approaches, does not have priority, and as such, must wait through both signal cycles at California and then at Whitesburg. To change the signal timing to improve westbound flow would adversely affect progression for eastbound Bob Wallace Avenue, as well as California Street and Whitesburg Drive.
