Description

Construction has been starting way too early at the bus station. For the past week or so, the noise has been waking residents up at the SkyHouse apartments right across the street and it has been starting between the hours of 5am-6am. Construction and demolition are both only permitted between 7am and 8:30 pm.

We hope the city management will understand that construction noise at 5:30 am is unhealthy for nearby residents and that they will take the necessary steps to delay this noise pollution until the lawful ordinance hour of 7am.

We apologize for the delay in responding. This issue was noted when the deck was being repaired in early December. This contractor was notified of the noise ordinance and the issue was resolved. These repairs are now mostly complete. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please know that as soon as we were aware the contractor was notified. This construction site has a hotline number that is directed to staff and the project manager; for an immediate response on any future issues please call 919-996-6154.

Thank you COR for resolving this issue and for providing a hotline number to staff. We suggest that contractors working at COR sites near residential buildings be given a card with noise ordinance restrictions.
