I did call Code Enforcement and they told me to call the police and the police did not in any way shape of form produce any objective data to validate my complaint. It has been about 3 weeks since my initial complaint and I have not heard anything in response from Code Enforcement as to who, when and how this issue will be handled. For all I know 3 weeks from now I will be told that Code Enforcement is experiencing high volume and to call this number and then when I call they will tell me to call the police which I already did and then the police will come out and say that I should handle this in an adult manner but as I stated before respectful mature adults do not blast music into other persons houses regularly until late at night. Then when I try to get some sort of specific response as to who will actually be dealing with this and how and when I am directed back to the front of the line. Surely Code Enforcement being a nonemergency response agency has something resembling a schedule. Since nothing they do is emergent don't they say Ok Fred this is your zone or your type of complaint so go ahead and schedule it in on or about X date? Is it possible at all to get anything remotely specific from this office? As far as I'm concerned I have already put up enough with the Island Grilles noise and further delay for weeks is asking a lot especially since they had plenty of time to get permitted and design and build their operation in a way as to not ruin this neighborhood. And if you think this is annoying try going home tonight and having your house transformed into somebody else's boom box and then do it again tomorrow and intermittently during the week.

I called the police again per your instructions. The police responded and said they have received complaints from others as well. The police were very courteous and professional and I greatly appreciate their service to us all. However the police again did not produce any objective data to verify our complaints i.e. a decibel level reading even on the second time out. Also there was initial confusion with dispatch as to what jurisdiction the Island Grille is in which in the event of a true emergency could prove disastrous. Please have somebody send a memo or inform the Chief of precisely whose jurisdiction it is so they can inform their dispatchers. Now, it appears that there is a moderate to high degree of confusion thus far as to the precise zoning, codes and the enforcement thereof due to location of the Island Grille. This is safe to assume based upon the lack of specific information being provided to us by Code Enforcement and Law Enforcement. If it is creating this level of confusion for the government entities that are directly responsible for managing these issues then it should be understandable as the why we are getting frustrated with it as it could have been resolved weeks ago. My persistence is based solely upon the fact that the officers I have been dealing with have not produced any closure, assistance yes, closure no as it is not their job and I personally prefer they tend to more important criminal issues. I would like to strongly suggest to our city and county officials that they put more time and effort into their process of approving, permitting and licensing to businesses such as the Island Grille. To completely overlook the fact that this business will be producing loud and raucous noise smack in the middle of a once peaceful residential area every weekend, sometimes during the week, to late at night which reverberates through residential dwellings forcing owners to have to wear ear plugs and put a pillow over their head so they can try to sleep before going to work the next day is obviously lacking any moderate degree of common sense. To add even further insult to that it may very well take a long drawn out legal process to demonstrate that common sense and common courtesy was completely overlooked by governing bodies for reasons I don't understand other than $$$$$$$$$.
