Yes, traffic was backed up into the garage behind 150 Cambridge Park Drive until **8PM**!! Absolutely ridiculous.
This picture though shows a poland springs delivery truck blocking a lane of traffic. This happens every day, delivery trucks parking in the new bike line blocking traffic.

Congestion on Tuesday night was extraordinary throughout the Boston region due to the heavy rain and localized flooding on several key state roadways.
With regards to the trucks in the bike lane, we are continuing to enforce the regulations for parking in the bike lane on Cambridgepark Drive. The layout of the road includes designated loading zones on the north side in several locations for delivery trucks. Those that choose to disregard these and park in the bike lane will be ticketed.

I just walked the road today and also checked the official list of loading zones in Cambridge (yeah, I was surprised that this exists as well!).
There are two loading zones. One fairly close to Steel Place on the north side. This is marked as a loading zone. The other is (I think) the turn around at the end of CPD. This is unmarked (and I created another ticket to get that fixed).
There are no other loading zones that I could find today. Two zones (one unmarked) is not "several". If there were more areas for trucks to load and unload without blocking the road, that would be great.
Note that the current congestion caused by trucks is *entirely* the fault of the City of Cambridge who added two bike lanes and put parking spaces in the middle of a travel lane and did not add any new loading zones for the trucks delivering to businesses.

The remainder of the loading zones will be posted this week. In the interim, it is still illegal for trucks to stop in the bike lane, which is posted NO STOPPING. It is the drivers responsibility to find a safe and legal on-street spot or an off-street location (of which there are plenty in this area) to unload their vehicle. We will continue to direct parking control officers to ticket in this area.
Thank you for your report.
