Now that we are in warmer weather there is a higher chance of getting this road fixed. A lot of times construction doesn’t start on roads until May due to bid times/contract dates as well as the temps needed for proper road asphalt installation. If the temps are too cold and they tear/re lay asphalt, the road will turn out uneven and bumpy. The warmer the weather is, the better the conditions are for installing new asphalt. This doesn’t matter as much with cold-patch, because no compactor or rollers are used. Hence why we see cold patch used in the winter months. Also; snow/water don’t mix well with the asphalt mixing/pouring process, hence why you don’t see any road crews constructing in the winter months here in MI. Source: asphalt contractor I spoke with.
Now that the weather is warmer, we should start seeing more of our state flower (construction barrels). We haven’t heard anything about replacing this road in some-time. It is not only a road that gets used a lot of local/neighborhood traffic, but is also a connection point for 6 1/2 as well as a primary access route for Victory Life - which gets a lot of traffic on Sunday. Since I’m in the area, this road is nearly impossible to drive on without hitting any sort of bump or hole. My car is newer and definitely drives me crazy that I may have to replace shocks/struts sooner due to this road’s condition. I can’t use any other road, as it serves as a primary route to my work.
Pleas, County and Township, FIX this road!
