The ROW permit inspector inspected this location this morning.
Everything is in order per permit requirements. NFAN.

So a driveway doesn't require 5' foot flairs on each side and a landing pad to access a county road? How do people know not to park there? What is protecting the cables, reclaimed water lines and sewer lines under the grass?

We have Municiple codes that describe what a new driveway requires. Section 170-199 seems to be what everyone should be looking at. Wexford Dr N is a county road. Why doesn't this apply?

Sidewalk was removed and constructed at 6" thick. The pad is for an RV that only leaves the property several times a year, so flares weren't required.

You're just making things up as you go along? So how about I park my truck in front of it on the street? it doesn't matter how many times it rolls out . It is entering a county road. The code is specific. Bring it up to code or shut it down.

Please assign this to the Board of County Commissioners. Traffic Engineers don't get to judge when and how to apply code. The code for a driveway is specific when entering a county road. Use it once use it a hundred times. It's a driveway for an RV parked on a concrete pad in a front yard. There a a couple pieces missing, flairs and pads. But I'd rather see it off the front lawn and away from my house.

What a joke right? The county picks when and what to enforce even though they know the codes exist.

What a joke right... Trailers, boats, RV's. Whole neighborhood looks like hell and the county doesn't care.

Mr.Traffic Engineer, Thank you for acknowledging the parking space. Now please acknowledge you Municipal Code which requires a properly constructed drive way needed to access a county road and enforce it.

Board of County Commissioners: Please ensure your employees follow the laws you wrote and approved.

Still waiting for the code to be enforced or fines levied for non-compliance with the municipal code covering access to a county road.

Where Parking is not Allowed (Florida Drivers Handbook)

On crosswalks.
On sidewalks.
In front of driveways.
By curbs painted yellow or where "No Parking" signs are posted.
Within intersections.
Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
Within 20 feet of an intersection.
Within 20 feet of the entrance to a fire, ambulance or rescue squad station.
Within 50 feet of a railroad crossing.
On the hard surface of a highway where parking spaces are not marked.
On any bridge or overpass or in any tunnel.
Within 30 feet of a rural mail box on a state highway between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Within 30 feet of any flashing signal, stop sign or traffic signal.
In such a way that you block or create a hazard for other vehicles

Someone could park there and not allow the RV to have access to the road....and nothing could be done. Personally rather see the RV off the lawn. But if it is going to stay it should be according to the code. Make them spend the money to build the driveway or fine them for non-compliance.

Let's get this up to your municipal code! Section 170-199. Apply your rules as they are written!

The section of the code that you are referencing applies to Arterial and Collector roads within Pinellas County. It is not mandatory that a property owner installs a hardened driveway apron to a residential roadway and Pinellas County reserves the right to determine if it is warranted or not. In this case the RV is allowed by code to be parked on the private property and is only going to be used a few times a year, which is why we issued a permit to the property owner to thicken and reinforce the sidewalk that the RV will traverse across to 6”. Public Works staff will monitor the grass within the Right-of-Way for damage/wear related to the RV’s ingress/egress from the property to the roadway.

That is not the way the code is written. It specifically addresses county roads and private driveways. It doesn't say anything about Arterial and Collector Roads.
It doesn't say anything about the number of times a vehicle crosses.
Remove the RV or build a driveway.

Like I said...if I line my 3 cars up on the street there is nothing anyone can do because it's a legal parking spot. Do you know how I know? Because it's not a driveway.
