Mazda with MA5CDR80 was parked between the signpost in the original picture and the crosswalk at 7:50 PM on Nov 3. How close is one allowed to park to a crosswalk?

Correction - that is MA5CPR80. Apologies for the typo. Called Police who transferred the call to Traffic Dept. Was told someone will be sent to investigate.

The same car was still parked at the same spot without any ticket at 3:45 PM

Toyota Ravv4 with MA2JS884 is parked within about a foot of the crosswalk similar to the car in the picture appended to the initial reporting.

I called TP&T after appending the above comment and was told someone will be sent over to investigate. The car is still there without any ticket. I do not understand earlier response "Observations thus far have not indicated the need for additional signage, but we are planning to investigate further". Are the three cars (including attached to this comment) parked illegally, too close to crosswalk or not? If they are legally parked, please advise me so I will not continue to report on this. If they are illegally parked, please add 3rd signage below two existing ones indicating "Tow Zone. No Standing Anytime" as is on the sign post on the north side of same location.
This has been open since Oct. 24, almost full month. Simple request for traffic sign should not take this long to resolve. Please acknowledge and resolve this issue at your earliest convenience.

There is no specific regulation as to how close one can park to a crosswalk, it is entirely dependent on posted signs where they exist. We post parking restrictions adjacent to crosswalks where necessary to provide clear sight distance for pedestrians. Given that this parking space is on the far side of the crosswalk, there are no sight line issues. We visited the site to determine if the vehicles parked on that corner block access to the street for left turning vehicles. While it is a tight turn which requires drivers to slow down, the turn is not blocked by parked vehicles. Therefore we do not plan on restricting the parking at this time.

Thank you for your response. One more question - how about northbound cars on Cedar Street (coming from Rindge/Rice Street) making right turn onto Norris Street.

The southbound left turn is the critical movement given the angle of the intersection. We did not observe any issues with the northbound right turn.
