A Public Works crew removed graffiti from this location on Wednesday of this week. If more has returned, please call Customer Service at 862-8750.

As of yesterday, 4/18, the graffiti remains untouched. No one has been there to paint over this sight. (Please note also more graffiti also on OHB westward towards I-40 from this location where I have also reported with photos.) THANKS!!

CSX Railroad owns the bridge trestle. The graffiti on top is approximately 50' from the ground, and will need to be removed from the top by the railroad company. Public Works' graffiti crew checks the most tagged areas weekly to try and stay on top of it, and remove graffiti on the sections that can be reached from the ground. Our inspector did not find any recent graffiti on OHB going toward I-40. But that section between HWY 70S and I-40 is owned and maintained by TDOT.

Public Works has forwarded your complaints to both CSX and TDOT.

Thanks for the update!! It's difficult for us 'average joes' to know who to contact about stuff. This website seems to almost connect all the different departments and utilities together. Thanks for forwarding the requests on.

P.S. The concrete road barrier further west on OHB was, in fact, painted over this week! ;o)

With all the flood repair work CSX is involved with the Nashville-Memphis line, I can't imagine they have time to deal with graffiti issues. So I am not going to worry about this for the next few months.

4 months and counting..... Graffitti is still visible and actually getting worse as of this past weekend. I won't close this out until something is done to paint over this. Thanks!

It's now been almost half a year ago that I reported this mess and NOTHING has been done to cover over the graffiti. Guess I have to pick up the phone and call CSX myself to get something done, huh?

Still no work done. In fact, I think I noticed some newer tags there!! What does it take to get this addressed?

Wow! HAPPY 1ST YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! Now that a whole year has passed since I first reported this, I wonder if CSX would join in the celebration and FINALLY do something about this eyesore!!!!

I can't believe that it's now going on eighteen (18) months since I originally posted this request. I drive through this trestle four or five times a week and STILL, NOTHING IS EVER DONE! I don't see why I need to keep taking photographs and posting them. The graffiti from two years ago is still there and very plainly visible on both sides. What does it take to get something done about this? My city councilman said he new that CSX was aware of this way back in 2010. Very disappointing that we have to put with this.

We have reported this graffiti to CSX for removal. They will have a crew in the area the first week of September, and we have been told it will be taken care of then. CSX is not a Metro agency, in the future you may email them directly at:

Thank you, MPW, for referring this to CSX. I thought this website was to report all things in need of repair or maintenance in and among our community. I knew that CSX was responsible for taking care of this, but I thought that it would be reported and monitored by whomever runs this Nashville SeeClickFix website. Had I known how to contact CSX, I would have. But it just made more sense to ask you guys to do that for us. I will keep an eye out for the day the guys finally paint over the two years' or more worth of graffiti on this overpass.

the city of Nashville has a code about graffiti if it was on your property they would fine you if you did not correct it if it is on city property or on some one as big as csx this code is not in forced the city writes the code they choose ho has to obey it.

Hello, again. It has now been over 18 months since I first reported this issue. As of yesterday, 12/11/2011, the graffiti IS STILL THERE! It has NEVER been washed off or painted over during the last year and a half! I contacted CSX directly about this as you suggested four months ago, but apparently my request fell on deaf ears. Will try, yet again! Sad that no only four people on this website seem to think this is an important issue.

UPDATE: I wrote CSX for the second time this year back in November 2011 and finally received a response letter that pretty much told me they really have no time to deal with my little complaint and they'll get around to it when they feel like it.

They also suggested I use their website "for more information on how to submit a request", which makes no sense as that is how I submitted my first two requests!!!!! See newly added photo image of their letter dated Dec. 12, 2011. UNBELIEVABLE. Maybe this will set a record for oldest SeeClickFix complaint here in Nashville.

UPDATE: Per Councilwoman Sheri Weiner of the 35th District, there is supposedly a project that has been in the works since last Spring to paint over the entire railroad trestle professionally and install a mural that was designed by students from Bellevue Middle School. This is the same project done at the trestle on Sawyer Brown Rd. a couple of years ago. When the warmer months return this Spring/Summer, they will get started on repainting. Until then, I'm not closing this problem. Still don't understand the lack of response from CSX for almost two years.

June 27, 2012: It's now been over 24 months since I first posted this complaint. As of today, absolutely NOTHING has been done to cover the graffiti. The warmer months are here and yet nothing is being done. What happened to the project by Bellevue Middle? If someone will give me permission and a couple of buckets of paint, I'll do the job! It wouldn't take but an hour to do this! What is the problem? Isn't anyone else bothered by this?

This is unbelievable, I can't believe one request has been ignored for so long! I think getting councilmen involved is a great idea as they should be responsible to help citizens with solving problems in our local neighborhoods

Bg, thanks for your comment. The last I heard was that the school project to paint the trestles has been put off indefinitely. So, now what?? I guess I will get Councilwoman Weiner's attention again and see what she suggests. What else can I do? Am I the only Bellevue resident that is bothered by this mess? Surely not!

Got a notice today that this issue is now 1,276 days old! Do I win a prize or something?? Can't believe this is going unanswered still. I drove by this location two days ago and shook my head in amusement that this is still an 'open' case. PLEASE, someone, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!

In August 2013, I got the following reply from Dist. Councilman Sheri Weiner when I pressed her for an update on a supposed school project to paint this tressel: "I wanted to give you an update on this Overpass although it is in a different district than am responsible for. This specific location would be covered on one side by Bo and the other side by Carter Todd. i have copied both of them on this email. Bellevue exchange club, our local council members, friends of Warner Park, the apartment complex at the overpass colonial grand, Ensworth high school, Nashville Christian school, and Hillwood high school have all come together To work with CSX on covering this graffiti laden property with a mural depicting the history of Bellevue. This project is well under way and sometime this year when the art students at the three schools complete the painting end of the project we will be placing that on the overpass with protective material in order to manage that unsightly mess. This project has been in process for a couple of years and it just takes time to get the money required and the permissions and approvals in order to get something like this done. Please feel free to get in touch with any of us if you have any questions. Have a great rest your week."

As of this week, not one thing has been done to cover up the graffiti in the last 46 months since I inquired about this.

Lol kids have painted that spot for years.i remember when it was first painted In 2005, my friend almost fell when we were pulling him back up. CSx used to respond quickly whenever it was painted. Smh.

I am actually a part of the Ensworth High School team working on the Bellevue Mural as a service project. We are painting the mural in panels on square canvas, and once the painting is done, the canvases will be hoisted and adhered to the bridge's surface. My school has completed two sections and is working on a third. The reason the project has taken so long is that the student artists at other schools have to work on their sections after the school day, whereas my school has about four school days out of the year for intense work. Trust me, it will be worth the wait!

Thank you for your response! I keep hearing from Council Rep Sheri Weiner that this project is 'still in the works', even though she knows I'm having a hard time believing her. LOL. It so hard to understand how long this has taken to get going...and how much longer (another year or two?) to get it done. I just hope whatever you put up there will last a while. The paint job at the other railroad overpass in River Plantation is already looking very weathered and stained over the past three years since it was covered in a mural.

With all this wait, CSX or someone could have painted the existing graffiti!!!! Instead, we are forced to just endure it year after year. Thanks and good luck.

It will be six years this May that I first requested that someone do something about this problem. Yet, here we are in 2016 and still nothing has been done to cover up this ugly mess. We are pretty much encouraging these 'artists' to continue performing their work since it is clear no one will address the problem and paint over it. Very disappointing.

It looks like they put up some particle board along the rails recently, not sure what that is supposed to accomplish. Metro is only responsible for the ground up to (I think) about 10 feet. They usually do their part, but CSX doesn't care.

Here we are , 2,236 days since i raised this issue and still nothing has been done. Very depressing. School is done for another year, so this 'mural project' obviously will not be done any time soon. Guess its tome to talk to Councilwoman Sherri Weiner, agsin.

Still no action to cover up this graffiti with some plain grey or white paint. How hard is it to for CSX to invest maybe ten minutes of time and help keep our community attractive and clean????

Last week, June 23, 2020, I passed under this railroad overpass and noticed the FINALLY someone was washing off or painting over this ugly sight. Maybe it was due to the nearby construction. I don't know This website service is really a joke if it takes over a decade to get anyone to do something about something as simple as painting over graffiti. Even the graffiti artists gave up after several years. (Maybe they'll come back and start over on their new fresh service?)
