I, being one of several residents who have complained to the Springdale Police Dept about this issue several times...SPD sends out an officer who waits for people speeding and writes tickets for a few hours. SPD has also setup the roadside radar to show people how fast they are traveling. None of this helps because there are too many people traveling this street and most are doing it between 35 and 45 mph when the posted speed limit is 25 mph according to discussions with SPD. I would like to see the street closed at the railroad crossing. If nothing else the county needs to install speed bumps and post more speed limit signs. Maybe it is time Beverly Oaks setup a HOA and take over the maintenance of the street. The HOA would have the ability to do things the individual residence of Beverly Oaks have not been able to get resolved.

It was a cut through road long before there were houses there. I will continue to cut thru but I also obey the speed limit and stop at the tracks. Living just up the road I don't like all the cut through traffic coming through my neighborhood, Westgate, but not much I can do about it either. Maybe convince DOT to install speed bumps or all way stops.
