Just this morning, I almost saw a multi-car accident occur at this merge point because both lines of traffic stopped at once - very suddenly. At this point, no one trusts the others to actually recognize who is supposed to yield. Put this intersection back to the way that it was for over 20 years before someone is badly injured.

My son totaled his car here. Slammed into back end of truck that had to stop fast (in the rain) because the other guy didn't yield..
