Thank you for submitting your concern to the City of Detroit. Unfortunately, the tree you have reported is not under the City’s jurisdiction. The City does not maintain trees that are located on private property, in alleys (open or closed), or trees located on state or county roads.

I do understand that the City does not maintain this area. I had hoped that you would redirect this complaint to the proper authority that would ensure that the property owner is tending to their property and/or cite the owner for the lack of maintenance to the property; or at least redirect me to the proper authority to which I may issue a complaint. This is a concern for multiple properties on our block. I appreciate your assistance.
