Yes, these lots need to be cut all the way back to the fence line. It is a thick forest of trees which have grown over the past several years since it was cut last. Now it is a haven for drug use, secluded sexual activity, and a hidden place to go through stolen property. The wooded area is littered with condoms, drug parafenalia, and remnants of peoples' stolen property. People are constantly lurking in that area and use it as a hiding spot or escape route when participating in illicit activities or running from the police. This is more than only a concern from a neighbor or two, this is a community who's residents are constantly in a position of fearing for their lives. We have experienced break ins, car vamdalizations, auto thefts, residents being held up at gun point, women being targeted at their own door step and robbed at gun point, exchanged gun shots between residents and attackers, many many home invasions and break ins (too many to count over the years), stolen vehicles left abandoned in our community, guns hidden in our community, etc. It's nothing new and something needs to start getting done about it. I've witnessed many times the police sitting waiting near traffic lights or on the highway to pull people
over. How can East Point say they don't have enough patrol cars or police available? The ones they do have are spending their time harassing people and handing out tickets while the rest of us are being held up, broken into, robbed, raped, and killed. Tell
me how this is acceptable?

I have desired for this heavily wooded area to be cut down for years. I often see people walk inside the area. In fact I saw two young men and a dog go into the area approximately 5:30 pm today. I have called the police in the past to monitor the area when I've seen people go back there. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE. The wooded area sits diagonally across from my home and I'm constantly looking over my shoulder when I leave or arrive at home. I desire to walk or jog thirough my community, however I don't because I'm afraid of what may be lurking in the woods. I actually drive to other communities to jog because I DO NOT FEEL SAFE. I am also concerned about my guests when they visit my home. The wooded area is near guests parking, however it is not safe for guests to park there. Something needs to be done immediately.

I've had a burgulary at my home and they ran into this wooded area. Something needs to be done about this. It's not safe at all. The constant crime in the area doesn't help. This area devalues our homes and is also an eye sore.

Our neighborhood is becoming increasingly more dangerous and appealing to criminals because they can hide out in the wooded areas of our vacant lots. This has been an issue for years. Please hold the owners accountable to maintain their lots in an effort to decrease the violence and vandalism we are experiencing in our neighborhood.
