There are many small pot holes and 1 large one in front of my address. The large one is @ 4x4 ft. and 3 in, deep. I keep sweeping the rocks and tar off my walk and out of my yard, to repace the debris and keep the cars from "falling" into the hole when it's the deepest.
The MAIN PROBLEM is that it's a low area and water will stand , not drain, as the rest of the street does. If the low spot was fixed, then it may PREVENT some of the pot hole issue in the future.
