This has been like this for several years since an accident where a woman speeding on Weatherly (surprise) lost control and hit the old pole and snapped it. The fix was to install the current pole adjacent to the cut off one and leave it hanging. This was reported years ago and it was deemed a non issue. I hope maybe this time it will be correctly resolved.

Huntsville Utilities has reviewed the pole in question, and found that there is still a phone and/or cable TV line attached. We have contacted the cable and telephone companies to move their lines to the newer pole. When their work is complete, HU will remove the hanging pole.

I received this reply to another pole problem on May 26. "We have recently met with the CATV pole attachment owners and we have all agreed to utilize a third party notification system. This agreement now allows each owner 30 days to transfer their utilities to the new pole, so that we can remove the deteriorated pole." Can one assume that in 90 days (30 for each of the cable companies & 30 for AT+T) the pole will be taken down?
Thank you for reporting your service request to the City of Huntsville. The remaining lines have been moved to the new pole, and hanging pole has been removed. If you need further assistance, please let us know.
