Still waiting for the town to even acknowledge theform they sent me to request the street light. I was told that if its not necessary or important, that it would not even be considered. I understand if we already had one, but there is nothing to light the street. Once Gino's Pizzera lights go out, it turns pitch black on the block. Very scary and we already had two brwak ins which one was caught on camera. Please help us get a light up on our block. I am an owner and pay my taxes, so why should I feel unsafe coming to my home at night. Someone please help us get some light on our block.

I understand that there are only two houses on my block, but street lights are very important to have. I will continue to call the town and request for that street light as every block has at least two street lights and we have not one. I am a homeowner so I do pay my taxes just like everyone else I would like to have Security in my home and having a street light makes a huge difference.

Brookhaven needs workers who care and who want to do good for the community. It doesn't seem that they do care. That's why you read about this one and that one corrupted and indicted. Because the money for your light goes into someone's pockets. I hope there will be that 1 individual out there who will care for Suffolk, so that we can get out of the dark ages and start progressing.

After several calls to the town about this street light, we are still in a pile waiting. Unfortunately last week a group of men n women waited for the neighbors timer flood lights to go off and they ran in my yard n brutally assaulted my son, his best friend and girl friend. My sons friend had to be rushed to the emergency room with a broken jaw and other injuries. I called Town of Brookhaven and told them what occurred. The woman I spoke with said I am still in a pile and if I am scared to call 911. These people waited for my neighbors lights to go off when they closed their business to them attack. This truly has to be resolved because now I am living in fear n also in the dark.

On August 31, 2017 almost two years of several requests the town finally installed 2 street lights on our block. I had to write an email of the gang assault that toook place in my residence and attaching most Brookhaven commissioners, politicians, news media and Brookhaven highway/street repair to get the attention of Brookhaven Street Lighting. Less than a week later our block had 2 street lights installed. It truly was very frustrating to call as often as I did to request the lights and get an excuse of why they were not installed. It took a crime to be committed for them to all of a sudden appear on two posts on the block. Shame on Brookhaven Town Lighting that it needed to come to this for lights to be installed.
