Too much

I think we refer to this as our "Gateway" neighborhood, that being the gateway to our beautiful city.

It could be the trash and attendant fifth you show in the pic demonstrates our love and concern for our less fortunate citizens (or occupiers). We love them so much that we've granted these people everyone else's right to use the sidewalk.

Many visitors arriving via the freeway and turning off West Grand to head Uptown must be greatly impressed with our tolerance. As a resident I'm running out of tolerance for the tent n trash communities and of patience with our public officials who are elected to protect our health, safety and welfare. Maybe we need to elect brighter council members who can take on this admittedly tough job.

Let's see what happens in a couple of years when mega money Uber people want to use the sidewalk. I wonder who the'll vote for.

This looks more like a Waste Management dumpster mess than a personal bunch of junk....and what were you doing anyway over there ?...

Its pretty clear the city has a welcome mat out for all the illegal dumpers, drug and alcohol addicted vagrants, spray vandals, street campers, self medicating mentally ill, human traffickers and those who profit from them. Which must include the the City of Oakland who is doing nothing to stop it. Somebody is getting rich from this nightmare.

No...the "welcome mat" is very CLEARLY nor out for "vagrants" ( homeless people )...."self - medicating" ( mentally ill ) : those who cannot afford all those therapy sessions and the ensuing prescriptions of happy pills gotten by those who can afford all of these things...."campers" (again homeless people )...now there's therefore instead..a welcome mat our for unscrupulous development schemes / fuedal type rip-off "landlords" / demolitions of housings for low-income families and individuals (I.e. the destruction of not one but 2 residential single room occupancy housings on Mac Arthur (destroyed through wheeling and dealings with Bridge "Housing"...and on....the "welcome mat" is out for every overpriced beer garden to open...displacing former business and residential tenants ( I.e. Temescal Brewing )...and the list just goes on and on )...also it is just ignorant to lump homeless people in with "human trafficking"...operations which are often actually FUNDED by hot shot runaway economies...so look again...there's no "welcome mat" out for the desperate....there's only...so far...nothing more than a constant and continual kick in the buttocks for them...at the same time that there's a large amount of landbanked and stockpiled buildings that stand unoccupied..sometimes for years...I.e...the large grey concrete fortress of a building on 26th / Telegraph (formerly a beauty school.)according to records in the Oakland Planning Dept...

Yes...that building at 26th and Telegraph...can be a Trader Joe's / ORiellys Auto Supply / Dollar Tree / ...things that actually BENEFIT the neighborhood ! !...a strong durable structure like that should serve the needs of the community...not stand landbanked for what ? Some 20 plus years ?! !..THAT is where the truly criminal behavior is "allowed" to go free...
