Um now I sit at Mt Vernon Way for 5+ minutes with no traffic on Mt Vernon in either direction... what has been done here? This light used to sense cars that are sitting at the light. Now I just avoid this intersection altogether.

No if traveling north on Mt Vernon Way and crossing Mt Vernon the sensors do not pickup the presence of a car in either south bound or north bound lanes. Why can't these sensors just work the way they are supposed to? This issue exists all over dunwoody and it's extremely frustrating.

The detectors have been checked and are working properly. If you are experiencing delays during the day, the signal is coordinated with the adjacent signals to improve progression on the corridor, which can cause delays when you don't see traffic on the mainline. The Mt Vernon corridor is scheduled for retiming early next year which will adjust all aspects of the timing.
