Back in February, Jim Wilcox (Director of Engineering Services, DPW) said that Reed Street Court would be surveyed and that he'd be back in touch when they, "...have a proposed design to address the ponding problem." I believe that the surveying was done, but we have yet to hear how & when they DPW will fix the problem.

I emailed the city a week ago, which is the first time I've contacted them on this problem, and I haven't heard back yet. Will post if/when I do...

Here is a great example of what the ponding issue looks like during a rain. Are there any updates from Public Works on timing?

On Wednesday, 10/5, Kathy Watkins (City Engineer / DPW Asst. Commissioner of Engineering) confirmed that the surveying had been done and that she believed that Jim Wilcox had a plan to spot pave...I mentioned to her that spot paving had already been tried and appeared to make the ponding worse(???) There was no talk of when the work would be done. Suggest contacting her directly at: kwatkins@cambridgema.gov.

Unfortunately even after the new drain was installed on Reed Street Court, there is still a good amount of ponding in between the two drains. The new drain catches most of the water runoff from Reed street but there is a dip in the pavement in between drains. This particular piece of the problem can't be addressed until the grading of the Court is addressed. See photos from yesterday's rain as evidence that the issue persists.
