Happens all the time on Mansfield. You're lucky they weren't speeding in the wrong direction like cyclists do along here. Cyclists speeding the wrong way have nearly hit me so several times on Mansfield.
Given the traffic patterns clearly evident on this street, it needs to be made into a two-way street for cyclists, one way for vehicular traffic -- combined with a few additional traffic calming measures to ensure travel speeds are maintained under a 15 miles per hour threshold.
Known as contraflow, virtually every low-to-moderate-trafficked street in many European cities is set up this way.
Our engineers need to start thinking about the reality of pedestrian & cyclist movements on lower-volume streets like these, instead of thinking that all non-motorized transportation users will extend their trips and circle around long blocks with hills.
See Brian Tang's sketches for High Street, also posted on this site, for an example of contraflow engineering.
As of 2013 City departments have begun to review, acknowledge and respond to SeeClickFix issues. Since your issue is in the category titled "No Service Request" and was submitted prior to 2013, we are going to close and archive it. If this issue still requires City attention, please report as a new SeeClickFix issue. Thank you.
