I find it ironic that 1714 Atchison is complaining about parking issues.

I'm a Whiting resident that lives on the 1700 block of Atchison...on the Whiting side of the street.

The occupants of 1714 ROUTINELY ON A DAILY BASIS have 6 vehicles that park on the block. Everything from an older model grey ford ranger (a tenant living there), to a grey chevy Malibu, to a gold Nissan or Toyota car (girlfriend)...and others.

This house has no respect for any of the neighbors on the block. We have elderly residents, residents with young children, and handicapped. 1714 occupants have no respect for anyone on the block. They park where they want and take up many spaces in front of other people's houses.

Yes, it's a public street but have some respect. Have more than two vehicles? Park on 117th where there's a plethora of parking availability. Especially guests...like the girlfriend, the tenant they have living there, or the teenagers' vehicles.

It's called common courtesy. And now THEY want to complain about a parking issue? Between this house and the house directly to the north of them, they had 13 vehicles parked on the north end of 1700 Atchison last weekend. THATS ridiculous!

I think there are other issues at play here, too. 1714 is a single family residence...yet they have a tenant living in the basement possibly? I'm sure there are some residence codes about turning a single family residence into that plus a rental unit?

Also many of the neighbors have noticed possible drug activity with these two houses as well.

Random cars coming and going at all hours of the day. Car pulls up...someone comes out...handshake and a quick conversation...and off the car goes. And this process repeats itself over and over. And these cars a lot of times have Illinois plates.

So if we want to complain about parking issues...lets get to the real issue here. On a couple of occasions Whiting PD has affixed warning stickers and even tickets to vehicles from the 1714 address that are parked for days on the Whiting side without moving.

We do have a problem on the block concerning parking...but it stems mostly from the 1714 address...not an isolated event that stems from pierogi fest. Want to talk about inconvenience...look at yourself 1714 Atchison!

Wait a second...didn't we resolve this issue 2 days ago by talking it out? I've been nothing but respectful but sir/ma'am your totally out of line here. Making very false accusations. Routinely daily basis 6 cars?? C'mon man thats ridiculous! We have 3 cars that park in front of our home and not all 3 are home at the same time everyday. 13 cars last weekend?? Jumps from 6 to 13?? Get serious. Not one of my cars were parked on the whiting/atchison side were slapped with parking violations or warning stickers. Living in the basement?? Seriously?? Get your facts right! Since your sitting on your porch watching my every move then i would think your complaints would be accurate. And drug activity?? You have got to be kidding me!! No such thing happens @ 1714. Thats a bold statement to make. This went from a parking complaint to drug activity? That was very unnecessary. You constantly say no need for a war or words and we or i thought we resolved this issue keep on making false statements and even made some very bold accusations. I have children in my home that i work hard for. Instead of making 1714 look bad on false statements maybe flag me down since your always watching and speak to me. I have no problem talking out problems but you crossed the line here today.

Wow sounds like a little deformation of character here?! Hmmm should look into that.
