I have reported this in the past. The crosswalk is lower than the drain, so there is no place for the water to drain. This is a major hazard that needs to be addressed.

This is an issue at several crosswalks on Whitehall Road. When they rebuilt the crosswalks to make them ADA compliant, many of them were lower than the nearest storm drain. Since water runs downhill, the crosswalks become filled with water and ice in the winter. The result is that they are not ADA compliant and a hazard to all pedestrians.

Talked to some folks at the City Hall on the Road last night and drainage problems on Whitehall are supposed to be on the list for repairs next Spring. I hope that everyone makes it through this winter safely! Maybe we won't have much snow and ice anyhow with climate change.

The Water and Engineering Department are currently conducting field work to solve this problem at this intersection as well as several other locations in the City.
