The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request #669904. Please check back for status updates, or contact us directly at 510-615-5566.
The trend line with abandoned vehicles (and "garbage boats") is that the City waits until they catch on fire and then they clean up the mess. Takeaway: 'they' choose that approach because it costs more to be less efficient and employs more City workers. Or, am I wrong? Oops, I forget - the City is not allowed due to the (INSANE) rule that forbids their employees from communicating with citizens - how effective is that? NOT.
I am waiting (but not holding breath) for the City to choose to be proactive and change, and break down their dysfunctional operational silos - but I think I will see pigs fly first.
