What is it costing the taxpayer of the City of Oakland to babysit these campers. I read that it costs SF about $80,000 per camper per year. Looking at HUD stats there are around 5,000 plus campers on the streets, sidwalks and parks in Oakland on any given day.
Good question David. Does Oakland even know the cost? I know we are tired of paying taxes while the homeless get a free ride. Someone needs to start doing their job, be held accountable for not doing enough

Some the laws currently not enforced in Oakland illegal encampments, illegal dumping, littering, vandalism, trespassing, spray vandalism, tagging, illegally placed signs, illegally parked everything and on and on. Without enforcement it will only get worse if that is possible.
But they are quick enough to site everyone that is parked wrong for a minute... The homeless in vehicles don't even get a ticket. I want to know why one group of people are allowed to break the law. If they can't pay, there's community service to clean up their crap. Oakland has let this get too far out of control
